T.C ELECTRONIC G FORCE MANUAL
More information on the differences between 1.05 and the latest version can be found in the G-Force manual addendum (available for download at TC Electronic). These are the software versions that (to my knowledge) have reached the public since the G-Force's release in 1997, together with their approximate release dates. Use the PCMCIA card with the G-Force as described above.From the M5000, copy it to a PCMCIA card.Load the software from the diskette to a TC Electronic M5000 processor (I don't know why the M5000 processor is required in the process, since there are personal computers with PCMCIA slots too, but apparently it is).Download it from a closed part of TC Electronic's web site and save on 3.5 inch diskette(?).Your local TC Electronic distributor should have the latest software version at hand.
T.C ELECTRONIC G FORCE UPGRADE
Using a PCMCIA card the upgrade should take about four minutes. Again, press Enter while powering up and follow instructions. The "Artist Card" (a PCMCIA card from TC Electronic with extra presets submitted by famous guitarists) may also contain the latest software version. If you buy such a card it can later be used as a memory card for preset backup.
TC Electronic sells or lends PCMCIA cards with the latest software versions. Using MIDI cables the upgrade should take about 20 minutes. Press Enter while powering up and follow the instructions. You can load a new software version from another G-Force unit (for example in a helpful music store) through the MIDI jacks. I've recieved reports that upgrading through MIDI does not work. For definite information on software upgrades, consult TC Electronic Support. I have no first-hand experience of upgrading the G-Force software, I've only done it through my local distributor and by sending the unit to TC Electronic. The software version used in your unit is shown when the G-Force is powered on, in the same display as your name and phone number (if you have entered them).
Since its relese in 1997 the G-Force software has been updated a number of times.
