From what I've seen, it seems the lead dev of this mod, SWAT-OP-R8R, had a lot of bad blood with Trainwiz and this mod over using assets without permission, but i'm not fully sure. It also has a server with events and buildable space stations. Made by the Swat community, Crossfire acts as an expansion/sequel to the game, adding 4 new sectors besides Sirius, and lots of new ships, including those from Starlancer, both from the Alliance and the Coalition (The latter also exists as a faction in there). There's also simpler ones, that simply enhance what the game already has, like Itano Circus.
